Say HI* to our Configuration Manager role

About the Team

With 80,000 colleagues working in 68 countries, we are one of the largest high-tech employers in the field of "Safety & Security." In the Netherlands, 2,500 colleagues work across four locations: Huizen, Eindhoven, Delft, and Hengelo (Head Office). Together with knowledge partners, clients, and suppliers, we work on, among other things, radars for the Navy and Army, cybersecurity solutions, cryogenic cooling systems, communication systems for the Army, and R&D for radars.

In Hengelo, the Naval Business Unit develops products and "Solution Systems" for the Navy. To maintain control over our product configurations, the Configuration Management (CM) department manages product baselines and data integrity. We do this using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Windchill.

As a Configuration Manager, you are an expert in configuration management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You have experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain and therefore understand the value and necessity of PLM.

In this role, besides your own tasks, you will also have guiding and coordinating responsibilities. You will contribute to the department's vision and strategy and support the continuous improvement of configuration management.

  • Status accounting;

  • Verification and audits.

You will develop and maintain configuration management processes, methods, and best practices using the international CM2 standard.

You will perform configuration management tasks in projects, such as managing baselines and deliveries.

You will monitor and direct CM activities within projects (e.g., change management).

You will create and deliver configuration management / Product Lifecycle Management (awareness) presentations and training sessions.

You will be a process expert who knows the processes in detail and helps to improve them.

You will be involved in improvement projects to build support for changes.

You will be a valuable sparring partner for colleagues, product, and/or project managers.
