In Hengelo, the Naval Business Unit manufactures products and Solution Systems for the Navy. To maintain control over our product configurations, the Configuration Management (CM) department manages product baselines and data integrity. We do this with our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Windchill. To strengthen the department, we are looking for a:

About the job

You will be responsible for developing and executing the Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The core of the role is managing systems and products throughout the entire product lifecycle.

As a Configuration Manager, you are an expert in configuration management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You have experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain and therefore understand the value and necessity of PLM. In this role, in addition to your own work, you will also have support and coordination responsibilities. You will also contribute to the department's vision and strategy and contribute to the continuous improvement of configuration management.

• You describe, implement, and maintain the fundamental activities within the CMP:

o Planning and management;

o Identification;

o Configuration control;

o Status accounting;

o Verification and audits.


• You develop and maintain configuration management processes, methods, and best practices, using the international standard CM2.

• You perform configuration management tasks in projects, such as creating baselines and deliveries.

• You monitor and manage CM activities within projects (e.g., change management). • You create and deliver configuration management/Product Life Cycle Management (awareness) presentations and training sessions.

• You are a process expert and know how the processes work in detail and help to improve processes.

• You are involved in improvement projects to create support for changes.



What you’ll bring

•    HBO working and thinking level (preferably a technical or IT study direction).•    Experience and knowledge of Configuration Management and Product Life Cycle Management.

•    Experience with CM2.

•    Knowledge of development, release, configuration & change management tools and best practices.

•    Process knowledge and knowledge of Engineering & Supply Chain processes.

•    A proactive attitude and analytical skills.

•    Leadership and the ability to make independent decisions.

•    At least a good command (both spoken and written) of Dutch and English.
