Hw Processes Methods and Tools Support Engineering LR08
Say HI* to our Documentation Engineer role
Within the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering department, the Electrical Design team is responsible for the design and integration of all (electrical) subsystems that together form a radar or combat management system. The products we design are used all over the world to build a future we can all trust.
The development of these systems requires a multidisciplinary approach using state-of-the-art technology, initiative, and teamwork. Our products operate and are maintained under extreme circumstances, which necessitates that we push the technical limits of components to meet these challenges.
Despite being a large organization, we’ve maintained our personal touch, fostering a great working environment and exceptional colleagues.
About the job
As a Documentation Engineer - Internal Processes, you will serve as both the administrative and creative backbone of one of our product groups. Your primary responsibilities include keeping our electrical models and databases up-to-date, supporting our product lifecycle management, running a 6-weekly sprint cycle to discuss, improve, communicate, and train our internal processes, and innovating within your role.
We are transitioning to an Eplan workflow that is highly integrated with our PLM software, Windchill. You will support the collection and dissemination of information about our designs and components, sharing this information with other engineers and stakeholders in our value chain, such as production, safety, RAMT engineering, and our customer documentation departments.
In a typical day, you will:
Discuss changes to product structures and models with engineers and archive this information in a standardized and controlled way in Windchill.
Support changes and help keep our engineers moving on their design work.
Host and manage a 6-weekly sprint cycle to ensure continuous improvement of internal processes, and be the driving force behind these discussions, improvements, communications, and training sessions.
Collaborate on and create safety documentation for our radar or combat management subsystems.
Communicate effectively and manage limited project management tasks.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for an enthusiastic, focused team player who:
Has a Bachelor's or MBO-4 degree.
Has experience or affinity with hardware design.
Is familiar with PLM software and project management principles.
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently.
Developed ability in verbal and written (Dutch and English) communication.
Wherever your passion lies, Thales can help you make the best use of your skills and creativity. As a contractor at Thales, you can expect to experience:
An interesting job within a team of experts in an international high-tech environment.
Room for and attention to personal development and personal initiative.
The opportunity to grow within the organization, whether in a technical, managerial, commercial or international capacity.
