Say HI* to our Electrical System Test Engineer role

Within the Supply Chain of the Naval organization, the SER department (Services, approximately 60 employees) is responsible for covering spare parts and repair activities for a variety of products used in delivered (radar) systems.

In addition, this department handles the execution of field services worldwide for the systems delivered to the customer, and upon request, ensures complete overhauls, from inspection to the delivery of the tested radar product to the customer. The department consists of two work cells for the different activities, along with a support group that handles logistics and technical work preparation.

About the Job

The radar products we deliver are used operationally by our customers worldwide for long periods. These radar products incorporate a variety of technologies that require both preventive and corrective maintenance. This can be done internally at our Thales Hengelo location, but also externally at the customer’s site.

The workweek can be very diverse. It involves performing testing and repair activities, primarily on sub-units with a focus on RF and high-voltage areas. Your responsibilities include preparing activities related to testing, repairing, and servicing, carrying out these activities, setting up or adjusting test procedures, and compiling reports on completed activities. In some cases, it may be necessary to provide on-site support to the customer, which can apply globally.

You will work in a growing team of test engineers to meet future demand. Along with Field Service Technicians, mechatronic and electrical specialists, and Test Engineers, you will be part of the group that performs activities under the "Field Services & Overhauls" label.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Testing and repairing sub-units from our Radar systems that have entered the service phase. This can take place at our Thales Hengelo location or on-site at the customer.

  • Acting as a "troubleshooter" in situations of technical or other types of problems.

  • Performing services such as system "health checks," maintenance, and repairs of our radar products.

  • The challenge in this role lies in keeping a wide range of Thales radar products, used globally by our customers, in optimal condition. The variety of work is significant and will be challenging for the Test Engineer joining our team.

Within Thales' Supply Chain and other departments at our Thales Hengelo location, there are many opportunities to pursue an exciting career path. Depending on your commitment and ambition, there are numerous possibilities within our company!
