The Products department at Thales Netherlands Naval is responsible for the system integration and testing of radar equipment (such as antennas, transmitters, and receivers), as well as testing the complete system throughout its entire lifecycle. The Products department is also responsible for the installation and commissioning of onboard systems, performing system performance tests, and providing services such as Health Checks, Technical Assistance, and Repairs for our customers.

About the job

We offer the opportunity to work on a technically challenging product called the GM200, which consists of a radar antenna with supporting technology in the areas of data analysis, cooling systems, and generator.

As a System Test Manager, you will be part of a test team and work collaboratively on these systems throughout their entire lifecycle. You will work at the Thales site to deliver our systems and services to our customers. The System Test Manager position includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

Responsible for planning and executing your team's internal and external integration and test activities

Ensuring a timely and high-quality system transfer to the customer

Operational management of the team and providing support for their work

Troubleshooting and advocacy for technical and/or performance issues

Team representative within the rest of the organization, such as product teams and customer account teams

Providing input into the development of product policy and strategy

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a practical colleague with an interest in radar systems and working on them with enthusiastic colleagues. For the System Test Manager position, we require the following skills:

HBO (higher professional education) level of working and thinking within a technical work environment

Relevant (work) experience with system/test engineering and project management in a high-tech work environment

Analytical, stress-resistant, and problem-solving skills

Proven leadership skills

Experience leading a team and/or mobilizing a group of people

Sensitivity to group dynamics and empathy

Ability to apply appropriate interventions in situations that require it

Good command of English (spoken and written); other language skills are a plus
