The Services department (105 FTEs) within the Supply Chain is responsible for providing various services for the radar systems supplied, including technical assistance, repairs, overhauls, modifications, and service parts. The department consists of three sub-departments for the various activities, as well as a support team that houses all logistical and technical support functions.




About the job

In the role of System Test Engineer, you will be part of a test team and, together with the team, responsible for carrying out system integration, testing, and service activities throughout the entire system lifecycle. These systems include state-of-the-art radar antennas, processing, and support systems. Your responsibilities include setting up or modifying test procedures, preparing activities related to integration, testing, and service activities, and preparing reports on completed activities. You will work both at our Hengelo location and at customer sites, including on board ships, worldwide to deliver our systems and services to our customers.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Integrating and testing radar and electro-optical systems.

• Testing and providing services at customer sites, on board in port, and at sea.

• Evaluating system performance in its operational environment.

• Acting as a troubleshooter in situations involving technical and/or performance issues.

• Performing services such as system health checks, maintenance, and system repairs.

The challenge in this role lies in maintaining the optimal performance of a wide range of Thales Radar products used by our customer worldwide. The variety of work is extensive and challenging for the Engineer who joins our team.

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic professional with the ambition to work abroad several times a year for short or longer periods. We are looking for a hands-on colleague who is interested in working with both old and new technologies, as we support our products throughout their long lifecycle.



What you’ll bring

We are looking for a new colleague who has:

• MBO+ (intermediate vocational education) degree with work experience in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Computer Science, Applied Physics, or Mechatronics

• Affinity and work experience with radar, analog technologies, Linux, or other fields is a plus

• Analytical, stress-resistant, and problem-solving skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Dutch

• Pragmatic, results-oriented, and detail-oriented approach

• A strong sense of group dynamics and a team player
