The Supply Chain, Services, and Operations department at our Huizen location works with over 90 people to manage the complete coordination and handling of all physical goods flows, provide all services (such as 24/7 support for our customers), and offer various support to the Huizen site (for example, facility management). This department functions as a shared service for all areas active at the location. The disciplines include Tactical Buying, Planning, Production, Warehousing, 24/7 services, on-site customer service, and more.
About the job
As a Tactical Buyer, you will spend most of your time supporting the Engineering department from the Supply Chain/Tactical Buying perspective, ensuring a smooth design process. You will collaborate with the Procurement and Engineering departments to purchase and deliver the necessary components for new designs and modifications to existing designs in a timely manner, with a focus on ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
Additionally, you play a key role in the obsolescence process. This process ensures that we can continue delivering products even when the components they are made from are no longer available. By sourcing alternative components or redesigning products, continuity is maintained.
You will coordinate between Engineering and Supply Chain to solve this complex puzzle.
In this role, you will gain exposure to many aspects of the activities at Huizen, providing opportunities for growth in various directions. The primary interactions in this role will be with the Sales & Marketing, Bids & Projects, Finance, Procurement, and Engineering departments.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Procuring all necessary components (both electronic and mechanical) for prototypes.
- Coordinating engineering deliveries (Software/Hardware) with the physical goods flow.
- Keeping track of all ongoing changes to maintain oversight.
- Communicating this overview to minimize the impact on customer deliveries.
What you’ll bring
If you are a creative, open, flexible team player with great communication skills in fluent Dutch and English, then you might be the person we are looking for.
You have experience as a buyer or planner at a manufacturer of electronic devices.
You have an MBO/HBO degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering).
You have solid knowledge of the electronic components market.
