The Engineering Delivery Team is responsible for the design, development, integration, configuration, implementation, and management of a nationwide monitoring and security system. This system utilizes an advanced, highly available, and secure IT platform. Comprising approximately 25 engineers, the team is central to the system solutions for building and site security. The team includes professionals such as system engineers, architects, integration and test engineers, and application and system administrators, who collaborate closely. In addition to performing engineering and management tasks, the team provides third-line support to the service organization, contributing to the success and continuity of our security solutions.
About Your Future Job
Thales is looking for a combined role of IT Infrastructure Engineer/Solution Architect. On the one hand, you will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team on the design, development, and validation of systems for monitoring and security applications. On the other hand, you will also make new design choices, define high-level scenarios, and document them.
You will work on implementing changes and extensions within the infrastructure and, if necessary, designing our production platform. One moment you may discuss your solution with other relevant stakeholders in the program; the next, you’ll define work packages and prepare for execution.
You’ll regularly meet with the team to share knowledge, discuss progress, and strive for continuous improvement.
You will collaborate with teams working on application integration and platform management.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with architects, system engineers, and the management team to engineer changes/extensions to the IT infrastructure for the production and test platform.
Analyzing and documenting requirements.
Defining and detailing innovations/adjustments/extensions in the IT systems/platform architecture.
Designing concepts/solutions.
Making new design choices, defining high-level scenarios, and documenting them.
Drafting Epic definitions and work items.
Scoping work packages and preparing work for integration and IT management teams.
Coaching integration and management teams in executing work items.
Advising the Lifecycle Manager on timely upgrades/replacements of various HW & Infra SW components.
Actively contributing to cybersecurity policy.
Contributing to improving system engineering processes, agility, and team collaboration.
What you’ll bring
If you are a creative. enthusiastic team player with great communication skills in fluent Dutch and English, then you might be the person we are looking for.
You have extensive experience designing and setting up infrastructures and works well in a team. Experience in IAM setup is a significant advantage.
You hold a degree in Computer Science or equivalent at HBO (higher professional education) or university level.
You are Microsoft certified at the MCSE level and VMware VCAP Data Center certified.
You have knowledge and experience with operating systems, virtualization, storage management, and Active Directory, including MS Windows Server 2019, MS SQL 2016/2019, MS Windows 10, VMware products 7.0 and above, NSX, Veeam, RHEL 7-8, CentOS, Active Directory, DNS, MS-IAM, HPe server hardware, SAN, and NAS systems.
You preferably have knowledge of IAM (SSO, Role-Based Access Control) and MIM.
You are interested in various relevant engineering disciplines.
You enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of site security systems and control room setup is a plus.
