Say HI* to our Software Verification Engineer role

Active in the Aerospace, Defense, and Security sectors, Thales Netherlands, with over 2,000 employees, is a top provider of high-tech jobs. Product innovation and quickly adapting to the latest technological opportunities are our driving forces. Notable examples include radar, communication, and command & control systems for naval ships, as well as communication, security, and payment systems for businesses. Thales Netherlands is part of the Thales Group, which has 68,000 employees in over 50 countries, making it one of Europe's largest electronics companies.

Within the Naval-Engineering cluster, the Applications department develops software solutions for, among other things, our radar and optical sensors. This involves real-time software for our radar processing systems in the sensor domain.

We are currently seeking talented Software Verification Engineers for this domain.

About the Job

Software constitutes an increasingly large part of our total engineering effort and delivers significant additional functionality to our radar systems. We place great value on applying high-tech techniques and methods to realize our solutions more effectively and efficiently. The Large Scale Scrum methodology is used in software development, with different teams developing software that is integrated and demonstrated in a single product—all in a fixed rhythm.

As a Software Verification Engineer, you will be part of one of our Scrum teams and primarily focus on testing and validating software components.

You will have ample opportunities to grow in various directions. Depending on your passion and ambitions, multiple career paths are possible, such as progressing towards becoming a software architect or a system test engineer. Opportunities to participate in field exercises and see our solutions in live action are also available.

What you’ll bring

Do you have a passion for technology and an interest in working on radar processing solutions and complex algorithms? If so, you might be the person we’re looking for.

The requirements for this role include:

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably (technical) computer science or electrical engineering.

  • At least 5 years of experience as a tester.

  • A passion for software engineering, with knowledge and experience in tools and techniques such as C, C++, Linux, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, and Continuous Integration being a plus.

As a person, you are creative, open-minded, flexible, and a strong team player. You have several years of experience in software engineering or software integration in a real-time environment. Additionally, you are results-oriented, take initiative, and communicate clearly.

Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is essential for this role.

What you’ll gain:

Wherever your passion lies, Thales can help you make the best use of your skills and creativity. As a contractor at Thales, you can expect to experience:

  • An interesting job within a team of experts in an international high-tech environment.

  • Room for and attention to personal development and personal initiative.

  • The opportunity to grow within the organization, whether in a technical, managerial, commercial or international capacity.

  • A flexible work environment with a focus on maintaining a good work-life balance.
