In the heart of our Engineering cluster in Hengelo lies the software engineering department, where we drive the development of cutting-edge combat and information management systems for naval vessels. Our expertise extends to seamless integration with sensor and weapon systems, alongside the creation of advanced sensor processing applications. At the core of critical operations, our software is the linchpin, ensuring resilience in the face of high-stakes scenarios.


Within the software engineering department, and more specifically for the CMS (Combat Management System) Infrastructure team, we are in search of exceptionally talented Software Engineer


About the job


As a Software Engineer you will design, develop and test software that creates the network capabilities for the combat management system containing operator consoles, radar systems and optical sensor systems. The team is responsible for the entire development chain – requirements analysis, development, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. The role involves a combination of remote work and on-site duties in Hengelo, Netherlands.

Relevant Experiences:


·       Programming language (must-have): Python (OOP, functional programming).


·       Tools and Technologies (must-have): Experience with the following:


o   Build pipelines and support tooling (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven, Jira).


o   Over 3 years of experience. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.


·       Software Maintenance: Experience maintaining software across Operating System releases.


·       Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Ansible, certification or demonstrable knowledge is a plus.


·       Network Technologies: Experience like routing, switching, OSPF, multicast and firewalling is a plus.


·       Scaled scrum: experience is a plus.


You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management, system & network engineering or comparable.
