Together with knowledge partners, customers, and suppliers, we work on projects including Radars for the Navy and Army, Cyber Security solutions, Cryogenic cooling systems, communication systems for the army, and R&D for Radars. In Hengelo, the Naval Business Unit produces products and "Solution Systems" for the Navy. To maintain control of our product configurations, the Configuration Management (CM) department manages the product baselines and the integrity of the data. We do this using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Windchill.



About the job


You are responsible for drafting and executing the Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The core of the position is managing systems and products throughout the entire product lifecycle. As a Configuration Manager, you are an expert in the field of configuration management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You have gained experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain and therefore understand the value and necessity of PLM. In this role, in addition to your own work, you also have guiding and coordinating tasks. Furthermore, you contribute to the department's vision and strategy and help with the continuous improvement of configuration management.

  • You describe, implement, and maintain the fundamental activities within the CMP:

    • Planning and management;

    • Identification;

    • Configuration control;

    • Status accounting;

    • Verification and audits.

  • You develop and maintain configuration management processes, methods, and best practices, utilizing the international standard CM2.

  • You execute configuration management tasks in projects, such as providing baselines and deliveries.

  • You monitor and manage CM activities within projects (e.g., change management).

  • You create and give configuration management/Product Lifecycle Management (awareness) presentations and training sessions.

  • You are a process expert, know how the processes work in detail, and help to improve them.





What you’ll bring

  • HBO (Higher Professional Education), preferably a technical or IT study background).

  • Experience and knowledge of Configuration Management and Product Lifecycle Management.

  • Experience with CM2.

  • Knowledge of development, release, configuration & change management tooling and best practices.

  • Ability and knowledge to develop and manage improvements using Agile and/or Lean.

  • Process knowledge and knowledge of Engineering & Supply Chain processes.

  • A proactive attitude and analytical skills.

  • Leadership and the ability to make decisions independently.

  • You move comfortably across all layers of the organization.

  • You pay attention to both details and the big picture.

  • At least a good command (both oral and written) of the Dutch and English language. (German & French is a plus).

  • In organizing your work, you strive for predictability and transparency.
