About the job
Thales Huizen is searching for a system architect within the Engineering Delivery Team DBBS, part of NLD SIX. The System Architecting team is responsible for developing new functionalities and tooling for security management, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. These complex systems contain advanced solutions for information processing, information management, and user interaction.The team is also responsible for maintaining these systems, which involves solving issues and flaws in the design, as well as initiating modifications and updates to address obsolescence.

As a System Architect, you are responsible for designing and developing the architecture of security and surveillance solutions, including the related IT infrastructure. You will specialize in creating robust solutions for security management, monitoring, data management, and processing, ensuring the systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Focus on the maintainability of the design is a core element of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and design the system architecture for DBBS solutions, focusing on security management, surveillance systems, and IT infrastructure. Involvement from the Systems Engineers and the maintenance team is crucial.
• Being able to define new concepts/solutions
• Define Epics and work items.
• Translate operational and maintenance requirements into technical specifications that align with the needs of defense and security stakeholders.
• Maintain and optimize systems by addressing design flaws, resolving issues, and managing updates due to obsolescence.
• Specify and validate subcontracts for software and hardware development.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure innovative and reliable solutions.
• You will also be involved in the integration and validation of systems, including testing solutions in realistic scenarios to ensure operational readiness.
• Thales highly values the application of modern technologies and methodologies, such as DevSecOps, to develop robust and scalable systems.
The following knowledge is a plus:
• Knowledge of IAM/MIM
• Experience with operating systems, VMWare, NSX, Veeam, AD, DNS,SAN and NAS
What you’ll bring

You are a talented System Architect with a passion for designing, developing, and testing complex security and surveillance solutions. You possess the following traits and skills:
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, system engineering, or a comparable field.
• Expert-level knowledge of information management, data processing, and IT infrastructure.
• The ability to financially structure your designs to convince stakeholders and align with organizational goals.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role as a System Architect.
• Experience with system modeling (e.g., UML, SysML) is a plus.
• Knowledge of security and surveillance technologies is a big advantage.
• Good communication and collaborations skills in Dutch and English
