You will be working within the Engineering Delivery department. This department is responsible for the construction, management, rollout, and maintenance of a national surveillance and security system. The Engineering Delivery department consists of architects, engineers (Engineering team), and system/application administrators (Administration team). The architects/engineers work on design and development. The system/application administrators are responsible for the deployment and management of the system. Within the teams, we strive for a DevOps approach, aiming to stimulate interaction and collaboration between development and administration. You will be working within the Administration team.
About the job
Together with approximately 10 colleagues, you will ensure the system's availability and operation. You will be involved daily in keeping the IT environment and systems up-to-date. You will also work on implementing changes and brainstorming how things can be improved. You will monitor systems remotely. On-site incident and problem resolution is also part of the role. The main tasks are:
• Performing regular management tasks to keep the systems up and running from our central location (in the center of the country)
• Performing regular management tasks to keep the systems up and running at various client locations in the south of the country (several times a year)
• Performing second-line IT system management tasks, including corrective and preventive maintenance on the production environment and the test lab
• Executing validated change requests on the production environment
• Performing/rolling out regular security updates
• Implementing security management processes (PKI/certificates)
• Consulting, coordinating, and collaborating within the team to optimize knowledge sharing
• Recording questions and issues and answering/resolving them as much as possible immediately
• Identifying and documenting structural issues (ServiceNow/Jira)
• Keeping (security) management documentation, processes, and procedures up-to-date and complete
• Independently identifying and implementing improvements
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a solution-oriented, responsible team player who has experience with:
• Managing MS Windows Server 2012R2/2019, MS SQL 2016/2019, MS Windows 10, VMware 6.5 and later, NSX, Veeam, RHEL 7-8, CentOS, Active Directory, DNS, and MS-IAM;
• Managing certificates and PKI infrastructure;
• Working with tools such as WSUS, PowerShell, Ansible, and JIRA;
• Using management and monitoring systems such as ServiceNow, HP OpenView/OMI/OMD;
• Managing HPE server hardware, workstations, SANs, and NAS;
We are looking for someone who has
• Eagerness to learn and have a vocational (MBO+/HBO) work and thinking level in the field of electrical engineering, telematics, and/or ICT, with demonstrable experience in network and system maintenance.
• Willingness to perform standby duties and be a team player within an independent and self-managing team.
• Ability to work independently and are adept at handling tasks, as you will regularly need to replace modules and/or components as part of troubleshooting and/or investigating a problem.
• Good communication skills (Dutch/English).
Preferred requirements include:
• Possession of current MCSE, SSCP, and VMware Certified Professional certifications.
• Knowledge and experience with network management.
• Domain knowledge of monitoring and security systems for buildings and grounds.
• Affinity with various relevant engineering disciplines (information security, software engineering, system & software testing) or the willingness to acquire these skills.
