Say HI* to our Electrical Engineer role

Within the MEE (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering) department, the Electrical Design team is responsible for the design and integration of all (electrical) subsystems that together form a radar or combat management system. The products we design are used worldwide to build a future we can all rely on.

The development of these systems requires a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, initiative, and teamwork. Our products operate and are maintained under extreme conditions. This means we must think ahead and push the technical limits of components to meet these challenges.

Despite being part of a large organization, we have not lost sight of our personal approach. We offer a fun working environment, great colleagues, and a high degree of flexibility.

About the Job

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for converting existing drawings created in Lcable into Eplan. The basic design information is available, but it is up to you to translate it into Eplan and set it up entirely according to Eplan methodology. Working together with multidisciplinary (lead) engineers, you will contribute to the electrical infrastructure of our product groups and ensure that our products meet the high standards we set. You will design and integrate subsystems and create electrical schematics that are essential for the development of our high-tech radar and combat management systems.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Design electrical schematics in Eplan.

  • Consult with your Lead Engineer about requirements.

  • Archive schematics and bills of materials in our PLM system.

  • Manage your own schedule and assist colleagues in meeting our product planning deadlines.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an MBO-4 or HBO diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.

  • Has extensive experience with Eplan.

  • Can translate broad requirements and international (safety) standards into high-quality designs.

  • Naturally embraces teamwork and takes initiative.

  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills in fluent English and Dutch.

What you’ll gain:

Wherever your passion lies, Thales can help you make the best use of your skills and creativity. As a contractor at Thales, you can expect to experience:

  • An interesting job within a team of experts in an international high-tech environment.

  • Room for and attention to personal development and personal initiative.

  • The opportunity to grow within the organization, whether in a technical, managerial, commercial or international capacity.

  • A flexible work environment with a focus on maintaining a good work-life balance.
