Thales
Industrial Methods, Integration and Test Engineer LR08
Say HI* to our Manufacturing Engineer role
The THALES site in Huizen, where approximately 300 colleagues are employed, offers a wide range of engineering solutions to support the Army in their communication and situational awareness needs. One of the key subsystems is SOTAS, which provides audio communication and the IT infrastructure within military vehicles. In addition to standard products, we also develop customer-specific, tailor-made solutions.
For the SOTAS Hardware Engineering Team, Thales (Huizen) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer.
About the job
The Hardware Engineering team (35 FTE) translates customer requirements into robust technical solutions that are qualified according to military standards. To make the products optimally suited for manufacturing, manufacturing engineers work closely within the hardware development team. The focus is on developing and releasing electronic PCBAs and mechanical parts (such as housings). The production of these components is outsourced to our partners.
The SOTAS product is assembled and functionally tested at our site in Huizen.
You ensure that products are optimally designed at the lowest cost and with the highest quality. To guarantee that we deliver high-quality products to our customers, you ensure that both internal and external production teams know exactly how the product must be manufactured and tested. You do this by preparing data packages and work instructions and by proactively communicating with partners and internal production.
You select components and tools with the lowest possible risk of supply issues.
You specify and prepare technical documentation for new manufacturing processes and implement new tools, including updating work instructions.
You contribute to the test setups to ensure they fit optimally into the production process.
You support the factory by analyzing issues related to materials or assembly.
You identify opportunities in production processes to implement improvements based on Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
