The Products department within Thales Netherlands Naval is responsible for the system integration and testing of radar equipment (such as antennas, transmitters, and receivers), as well as testing the complete system throughout its entire lifecycle. The department is also responsible for the installation and commissioning of onboard systems, performing system performance tests, and providing services such as Health Checks, Technical Assistance, and Repairs to our customers.

About the job

We offer the opportunity to work in an exciting and technically challenging field focused on the integration of radar and electro-optical systems. These systems include state-of-the-art radar antennas, processing, and support systems. In the role of System Test Engineer, you will be part of a test team and work on these systems throughout their entire lifecycle. You will work both on our premises and at customer locations (including onboard ships) worldwide to deliver our systems and services. Your duties and responsibilities include:

Independently integrating and testing radar and electro-optical systems;

Performing tests on-site, onboard in port, and at sea;

Evaluating system performance in the operational environment;

Acting as a troubleshooter for technical and/or performance issues;

Providing services such as system health checks, maintenance, and repairs.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a practical colleague who is enthusiastic about working with both proven and cutting-edge technologies, as we continue to support our products throughout their long lifecycles. For the System Test Engineer position, we require the following skills:

MBO/HBO/WO diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Applied Physics, or Mechatronics;

Affinity with radar systems; affinity with analog technologies, the Linux terminal, or computer networks is a plus;

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;

Ability to implement appropriate interventions when the situation requires it;

Good command of English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages ​​is a plus.
