Within the Supportability Engineering team, we are urgently looking for a skilled Technical Author IT to strengthen our team. The Supportability Engineering team consists of 60 domain experts and is responsible for the definition, development, implementation, and training of ILS (Integrated Logistic Support) for Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems. The team includes the following disciplines: Logistics & Maintenance Engineering, Customer Documentation, Customer Training, Obsolescence Management, and ILS Management.




About the job

The Customer Documentation Team is responsible for all customer-facing technical documentation related to our Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems, which are primarily used in the maritime domain. The current team consists of approximately 15 Technical Authors.

As a Technical Author IT, you will develop the technical user documentation for our high-tech products. You will gather technical information, analyze the operation from a user’s perspective, leverage the expertise of specialists across the organization, and validate the documentation on actual systems. You will write and maintain clearly and accurately formulated texts for Operator, Maintenance, and System Manuals.



What you’ll bring
  • You have a completed bachelor's or master's degree in IT (or a related field);

  • You have a technical background and/or affinity with Information Technology;

  • You have at least 3 years of experience as a Technical Author or in a similar role;

  • You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • You are proficient in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;

  • You can write precise, consistent, clear, and concise Dutch and English and understand user information needs. Knowledge or experience with STE (Simplified Technical English) is a plus;

  • Knowledge and experience with the ASD S1000D specification/Data Modules (DMs) is a plus;

  • You have knowledge and experience in agile software development;

  • You are capable of translating complex concepts into easily understandable information for our end users;

  • You can lead documentation projects from start to finish;

  • You are able to work independently, take initiative, and also enjoy working as part of a team;

  • Knowledge of structured data such as XML and experience with CSDB/CMS is a plus;

  • You are flexible and open to technological changes in your field.

Additionally, You:
  • Have a good sense of language;

  • Work and think in a structured way and are analytically strong;

  • Are curious about the latest developments in Information Technology;

  • Are resilient under pressure and proactive;

  • Have strong communication skills;

  • Are skilled in organizing and planning and possess a good helicopter view (the ability to maintain oversight and context).
